FBI welcomes Dr. Ohiro Oni-Eseleh to the first PEMIKIR's Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series

FBI's Centre of Excellence, PEMIKIR, has taken the initiative to organise the first ever Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series of October 6th, 2021. The lecture series is a platform that invites prominent speakers and academicians locally and internationally to share their inputs in the fields of social sciences.

The first series saw Dr. Ohiro Oni-Eseleh, Assistant Dean for Program Development & Community Engagement, Adelphi University, New York, USA invited to share his inputs on Othering and Marginalization of Minorities in the United States. He shared with the audience the state of marginalisation that happens towards the minorities in the USA, the causes, the impacts, and the possible ways to overcome the problems.

The lecture series was attended by more than 60 participants mainly from UMK, Malaysia as well as the USA. It was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr Nur Azuki Yusoff, the Director of PEMIKIR, and emceed by Dr. Azahah binti Abu Hassan Sha'ari.

PEMIKIR's Lecture Series is expected to continue with other series of intellectual discourse in the future.
